CRESTRON Isys TPS6L

EHX Spring 2008 will host the demonstration of a new complex display from Creston, featuring light sensor for adjustment of the backlight brightness depending on the room’s light intensity, full-motion video, WAV audio playback, built-in microphone and an amplified speaker.

Isys TPS-6L also provides Ethernet connectivity and reduces the graphic load time in ample installations.

It is designed to be easy mounted, with a compact shape, and has a high-contrast 5.7-inch touch display with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, allowing the installation of cable TV or security cameras.
One of the options is to have 12 programmable buttons meant to align with fluctuating text and graphics and support context-sensitive menu functions like digital media files.

The exterior is customizable and the user can choose to engrave the bezel with solid or backlit text.

“The TPS-6L provides users with a multitude of style and video processing options,” declared Alex Villiard, Product Line Manager, Crestron. “The ease of the Ethernet connectivity allows users to seamlessly integrate this product into any Crestron environment. Dealers can provide control over external video sources, as well as home features such as lighting and HVAC systems all on one easy to use Crestron touchpanel.”

Samsung SyncMaster 53 Series

At Press and Reseller Summit in New York City Samsung unveiled a new series of desktop monitors featuring the latest technologies and destined for customers and businesses.
SyncMaster 953BW, 2053BW, 2253LW, and 2253BW are all ultra-sleek with a piano-black glossy finish and an overall simple design.

Featuring the MagicColor technology, these new monitors are capable of delivering an intelligent color control, customizable brightness, great color contrast, through keyboard and mouse control, which allow the user to adjust the image quality.
New SyncMaster monitors have a 2 ms grey-to-grey response time, 8,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, equipped with DVI, HDCP connectivity for undistorted video images.

<-125x125 Button - left->Also called the 53 series, the new models come with MagicBright3 for an automatic brightness, MagicWizard for automatic adjustment of images, colors, resolution and screen font, while MagicKey lets you choose five keys to set for each of your favorite web sites or applications.

SyncMaster 953BW is a 19-inch desktop monitor with 1440 x 900 pixel resolution, 300 cd/m2 brightness and a viewing angle of 170/160 degrees, available at an ESP of $239.

In the order of the prices next is the SyncMaster 2053BW, at $299 ESP, featuring a 20-inch screen diagonal, a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels, 300 cd/m2 brightness and 170/160 degrees viewing angles.

At $319 ESP comes the SyncMaster 2253LW model having a diagonal of 21.6 inches, 1680 x 1050 pixel resolution, 300 cd/m2 brightness and same viewing angle as the previous models described.

The price difference for the new desktop monitors is not big, and the most expensive from these is SyncMaster 253BW with an ESP of $349. We cannot be sure about this last monitor’s specifications as it is not listed on Samsung’s website yet, but we can assume it has a 22-inch diagonal and the same viewing angle and brightness as the other models from the series.

This technology is used in the new TileMatrix Video Wall Solution which supports four NEC 46-inch MultiSync LCD4620-2-IT displays designed with an ultra-thin-bezel of 16.5mm, fitting video wall applications, while the system also comes with TileComp feature to make the image look crisp at the edges.

The mounting system is the Digital Factory PerfectAlign with Extron high-performance cables, and the Tripp Lite surge suppressor.
Other characteristics include the XtraView wide-angle viewing technology, 16 ms response time for full motion video, 700 cd/m2 brightness, 1800:1 contrast ratio, 1366 x 768 pixel native resolution, real-time clock for content scheduling and monitor sleep/wake management, leading to improved energy saving, Extron 15-pin HD Male to BNC Male cable for computer video transmission, Extron BNC Male to Male Five Conductor MHR coaxial cable for high-resolution, video signal distribution, and Tripp Lite Isobar6 surge suppressor with six outlets preventing system crashes, reboots and performance problems.

The full NEC solution is available at around $18,999.
