Don’t you love Christmas holidays? The snow, the carols, the tree, the gifts, the hot chocolate, the ski trips, the days off from work; they are all part of our beautiful white days of rest and relaxation. You know what else is cool this Christmas? Facebook has a new fun application that moved a part of Christmas in the online environment.

Gifttreez is a new way to exchange online gifts with your friends this Christmas. You start by choosing a Christmas tree which is the place where all your gifts will be shown. There are 6 different models, covered in snow or surrounded by a red garland. The size is small and it is the standard one no matter which model you choose.  Once you have chosen the tree, it’s time to tell your friends about this new application. Invite as many friends as you can from Facebook and once they join you in this fun activity, their trees and profiles will be available in the second tab of this app, the “browse treez” one.



By visiting every profile you have certain activities available that give you points which you can later use to upgrade your Christmas tree. You can vote for someone’s tree if you like it and the application will automatically give you one point. If your tree is also voted, you receive 2 points for each vote you get. And here comes the most beautiful part: the gifts. Gifttreez allows you to put one decoration each day into every tree in your network. Simply drag and drop the decoration you want into your friend’s tree and type in a message (which is mandatory, you cannot send the gift without a message). Your friends will receive a notification that you have gifted them. For every gift that you send, you account gets 10 points and for every gift that you receive, you get another 5 points.

If you want to make your Christmas tree bigger, you must have 750 points in order to upgrade it to medium size. For a big size Christmas tree, you should have at least 1500 points. These points that you receive also contribute to your network rank. In the “my tree” tab you will find all the necessary information about how many gift you send and received, the number of points they generated and even the messages that your friends sent you along with the decorations.



Whenever you feel like moving stuff around, there is a customize option that allows you to change the position of the decoration in the tree. The only thing we don’t like is that you can only get those nice decorations if your friends install the application and send you the gifts. So, you have some serious convincing to do. You can try to gather your closest friends, convince them to install the application and maybe they can invite more friends that you can add as well. It will be like a multilevel invite. Go on and be amongst the people that have their very own virtual Christmas tree.
