At the end of July, NEC will ship it’s new low-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD modules measuring 2.7 inches in diagonal and featuring outstanding high pixel density, under the name NL9654HL06-01J.
The high pixel density is of 413 pixels per inch and these displays support quarter high-definition resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 70% wide color gamut, and 300 cd/m2 brightness.
If embedded in video camcorders these modules enable very accurate focus adjustment and so they can be used for color checking via the viewfinder with no need for external monitors.
Besides high pixel density, NEC’s NL9654HL06-01J modules feature 960 x 540 pixel resolution compatible with full HD of 1920 x 1080 pixel.
Other 3 LCD modules introduced by NEC are the 4.3-inch color TFT with WQVGA resolution and 600 cd/m2 brightness, the 3.5-inch TFT with VGA resolution and high transmissivity accomplished by combining the TFT technology with super-transmissive natural-light, and a 2.7-inch TFT with 500 cd/m2 brightness and QVGA resolution.
The new Digital Photo Frames from CEIVA are the first photo frames that can be fully customized with graphics. This new product comes as a perfect gift for the upcoming Mother’s Day and seems to be a special frame indeed.
These fully connected frames are able to receive photos from anywhere in the world using a connection with a phone line, broadband or even wireless network. Another interesting fact is that through this gadget you can also send pictures to other friends or family members that posses a CEIVA frame: just upload the photos to CEIVA’s website, choose pictures’ destination and CEIVA will do the rest of the job. Simple isn’t it?
Once a picture is uploaded, you can decorate it with text and designs picked-up from the CEIVA website. More than that, you can also create your own custom design, just use your imagination.
I think this is a perfect gift for every Mom out there and, by being able to receive photos almost instantly with such easiness like plugging the frame into a broadband network for example, makes it a very interesting gadget.
Pricing for the Digital Photo Frames is $199.99, a special price for a special day: Mother’s Day and for an extra custom design you must pay an extra $29.99.
Wrap it, give it to your Mom and start sending pictures to her. She’ll love it!
I don’t know if this a first timer in the world, because probably some “boatware” producer from China already manufactured something similar, but for Mustek, as well as other “serious” companies, designing a digital photo frame having an additional LCD screen doesn’t really make sense…or does it?

If you are curious about the “dual-LCD” part, here’s the deal - first, the PF-E700 has a primary display that’s a 7-inch LCD with 480 X 234 pixels resolution, while the second LCD provides time, date and temperature info. It doesn’t blow me off the chair, to be honest, but some people may consider it useful.
In case you already want a PF-E700 for your bedroom, then you should know this one isn’t going anywhere until April, when Mustek will start shipping the first units, for a price tag of $150.
I love people that would do anything to see their dreams come true. In fact, it’s more about “spend as much as required to see their dreams come true” than anything else, but nothing compares to the feeling you get after working year after year to achieve a goal, even if this goal and the amount of money spent may be ridiculous to some. Today, I just found out about a home cinema system worth 6 million US dollars, and you have to see it, because I think it’s simply great, despite the fact I wouldn’t wish for something similar, even if I had those money…

When it comes to LCD TVs, it seems today the battle between the industry’s giants is reduced to screen size, digital image enhancement chips, connectivity, and as many features as possible, with each new model. Anyway, while some like it big, others like their TV to be easy to carry around, and some would go as far as to carry their TV in the pocket. Exactly for them, Sony created the smallest BRAVIA model so far, XDV-G500, as well as the XDV-G200, which is just a bit different…
