LG is a brand that we can trust on, even if our eyes are closed. All the products of LG, be it in field of home appliances or electronic gadgets, LG has achieved high benchmarks. In this article we are going to discuss some top plasma TV made by LG.

LG Infinia 50PK790 in Plasma TV

Few months back LG had promised that it is going to launch a new range of Plasma TV that can match the quality expected by today’s generation and this product is in many ways closest brand that has ever come to achieve such greatness. The 50PK790 gives you a great start by doing the same thing that most Korean companies do. It has got sleek finish, bold lines along with single layer fascia and it has become the trade mark of LG’s posher television. The only concerning point in this plasma TV is its main bezel edges that makes you feel a bit uncomfortable to hold but once it get installed then there is nothing to worry for.

50PK790 is wall friendly and all the connections are on the rear of the TV but it could have been great if the connections are positioned with sideways orientation too. It has got multimedia option that can really catch your eye and it has got Ethernet port that is there for future use like you can access files on a DLNA PC or you can connect LG’s burgeoning new line NetCast service whenever you want. Currently with this service of NetCast, you can work with Picasa online photo album site, YouTube and AccuWeather site but other services like Skype and some video streaming sources will be added to this platform later on through free downloaded update.

LG 50PK790 has got one USB port using which you can play some JPEG photos, MP3 files and also DivX HD videos. Bluetooth connection that you can rarely see with TV but this feature is present in LG 50PK790, so using this Bluetooth you can stream in photos, music just by enabling Bluetooth and can share with your laptops, mobile phones, computer system. If you have wireless Bluetooth enabled headphone, you can send audio files to it directly form this TV just by pairing headphones with it. Or else use it to make the TV wireless via an optional USB Wi-Fi dongle.

LG 50PG60 Plasma TV

All those who want to go for this model should know that this LG product has got THX certification. The main goal of this certification is to have good manufacturing quality that helps consumer’s buying decision by testing methodology and specifications. Testing of this product has been divided in two categories- first is the performance of the device that is consist of some basic features like contrast, grayscale, video processing and color. As this TV is THX certified, it produces an image that conforms the standards established for high definition TV’s.

50PK790 TV has got one unique feature of locking pictures controls so that no one can alter the picture quality delivered by this LG product. This TV offers a 10 point grayscale-calibration system which means that a technician can independently calibrate 10 different brightness levels. Another important feature is its color-management system through which you can adjust primary and secondary colours, so that you can match them according to your need. You can also alter the tint and the saturation of each color. The ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) mode helps a tech to lock the calibration settings depending upon different viewing condition, ambient light for daytime along with night time with no room light. It has got one side mounted USB port so that you can attach any storage device and can share photos and play music files. This sharing feature in plasma TV is a proof that these concepts have a great future everyone would love to have multitasking television.

LG 42PQ30R

This LG product features 600Hz Sub-Field Driving Technology that gives you speedy action with sharp quality. The minimum amount taken to turn a pixel on or off is 0.001ms. This LG TV offer USB terminal that helps you to connect various type of storage device and its plug n play features allows its user to make easy use of digital cameras, MP3 players and camcorder. LG42PQ30R has dynamic contrast ratio of 20, 00,000:1 that means the pictures are exceptionally crisp and clear with reduced light reflection and optical glare. It can naturally project colours without any white balance and displays images in bright environment without any reflection.
<-250x250 Square - right->Pioneer PDP-508XD TV is one of the most advanced 50-inch plasma TVs on the market because it is based on the unique KURO display technology that enables the deepest black levels to reach the most natural colors and sharpest image details.
This translates into the unique capability of showing every shade between black and white, accomplished by several technologies such as the Extreme Contrast Concept which displays the absolute black, achieving 0-idling luminance in over 6 million cells, without relying on measurable light emitting.

The Intelligent Brightness Control does exactly what its name suggests; it controls the screen brightness depending on the light environment changes, while the integrated digital DVB-T tuner with CI Slot eliminates the need for additional decoder box.
With the USB host you can connect your memory stick to the television, watch your picture collection on the large display, and in the same time listen to the music using the subwoofer out for boosting lower frequencies. This capability replaces the need for an additional amplifier.

The Pioneer PDP-508XD TV is ISF calibration ready which means that it can be optimized for your best viewing experience by a trained professional who knows exactly how to set the contrast, tint, color and other parameters.
To keep watching the family serial at five o’clock and not miss the football match you can set the display on multi-screen mode for picture in picture or split screen views.

The Pioneer 50-inch plasma TV with KURO screen technology has a wide resolution of 1,365 x 768 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio, and is HD ready featuring a HDMI connector for Blu-ray, HD DVD discs and high definition digital camcorders.
It has a contrast ratio of 16,000:1, remote control, 17 languages support, Digital DVB-T Tuner, side or under-mounted speakers, and connectivity options including S-Video, RCA AV, Euro-SCART, headphone slot, RCA audio, PC input, and i/o Link A connector between the Multimedia Receiver and other A/V devices enabling One-Touch Play, System Standby, Preset Download and What You See is What You Record feature.

Other characteristics include HD Digital Film Direct 24, Progressive Scan that works together with Pioneer Digital Flicker-Free technology to eliminate flicker and false contour appearing at 100Hz scanning, Electronic Program Guide, Direct Colour Filter 3, Intelligent DRE, Colour Temperature Adjustment, Dual Screen Display, PAL/SECAM/NTSC3.58/NTSC4.43/PAL60/HD video signals, SRS (Surround)/SRS Focus (Audio orientation)/TruBass (Bass Boost) sound options, Energy Save mode, Teletext with memory for 2,100 pages, PURE DRIVE 2HD for no intermediate analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue converters, and Dual Noise Reduction meant to minimize picture noise and reduce the MPEG common noise from compressed video images.

Coming in a stylish piano-black finish, the Pioneer 50-inch plasma TV measures 1,224 x 717 x 115 mm at 34.5 kg, having a power consumption of 364W in use and 0.4W in standby.

Bang & Olufsen announced the Beovision 4 home cinema concept featuring full HD on a large 50- or 65-inch plasma screen that displays the sharpest images and richest colors thanks to the Automatic Colour Management technology which controls and adjusts brightness, contrast, colour, sharpness and white point of the image even in low-light conditions.

Featuring the BeoLab 10 dedicated centre speaker the home cinema model delivers an impressive surround sound matching the high image quality and the exterior design consisting of brushed aluminum with smooth texture.
The sound is enhanced by the Acoustic Lens Technology that spreads the sound from the centre channel 180 degrees on horizontal, while controlling the vertical dispersion, minimizing this way the detrimental early reflections from the floor and ceiling.

According to the latest press release from Bang & Olufsen, BeoVision 4 is equipped with a short robotic arm with a built-in camera which swings down from behind the aluminum frame to measure a test picture displayed on the screen, and it does this after 100 hours by default.
This way it analyzes the color temperature and adjusts it to reach the perfect color reproduction after thousands of hours of use.

“Bang & Olufsen has a long and proud tradition of adding a touch of magic to its products,” says Senior R&D Manager Torben Dalgaard. “With Automatic Colour Management, we have taken the bold step of integrating future picture quality improvement into the product itself, and presenting this revolutionary technology directly to the BeoVision 4 user. This is something that has never been done before, and it clearly adds another level of excellence and ease of use to the product.”
