There are various things that you need to take in consideration when choosing your computer monitor. Even if all the monitors do the same things, there are still various types that you can choose from. The tasks that you want to perform on your computer are also important when it comes to the display. If you intend to watch movies or play games you would need a large monitor, whereas if you want to use it for simple tasks such as office-related ones, then a smaller one will do just fine. Speaking of size, the computer monitors come in a large variety of them.

Most of the people choose the 17 inches or the 19 inches monitors because these can be great for many tasks such as simple tasks, watching movies, web browsing, and so on. Of course, if you have the money you can buy a larger monitor, and that will be much more suitable for gaming and HD movies while still being great for the more simple tasks as well. There are various types of computer monitors available for purchase.

One of them is the CRT, or the cathode ray tube monitor, the other one being the LCD or the liquid crystal display. These two monitors are very different, each having their pros and cons. The CRT monitors are cheaper because they are more outdated then the modern LCD ones. The cathode ray monitors are heavier than the LCD ones, and they occupy much more space than the LCD ones.

One of the most important reasons why the people choose them is because of the price. The LCD monitors are less heavy and occupy less space, and in the same time they can provide much higher resolutions. The LCD monitors are also much better when it comes to energy efficiency. I would advise you to buy a LCD monitor if you can afford it.

It is very important for the monitor to be compatible with the computer. The liquid crystal display monitors require a digital video interface and in case that the computers do not have that, you will not be able to use it. Make sure that you know what kind of connection your computer has prior to making the purchase. Some other aspects that you need to take in consideration are the resolution, and the aspect ratios. The resolution represents the number of pixels which are present on the screen, and the aspect ratio represents the ratio of the monitor’s width to its height.

There are many brands you can choose from, but the prices will be highly influenced by them. If you can find a cheaper monitor from a less know brand I would advise you to buy that.
