Why should you get an LCD monitor and not a monitor based on the plasma technology? What are the advantages of using such monitor and how can this affects the environment? Well, if I am allowed to start by answering the second question, I would say that there is a big difference between the LCD and the plasma monitors, because the LCD ones consume a lot less energy than the plasma monitors.

I don’t know anything about the radiations or the heat that these two types of monitor issue, but I don’t think that this is a problem. Anyway, we live in a world, where almost anything is dangerous for our health. A radiation in addition or not I guess that won’t harm too much our already used with this organisms. But if we can save the planet, by reducing out energy consumption, why not do this?

I don’t know if the people who have chosen the LCD as being better and more popular than plasma, thought of this environmental aspect. I have a hunch that they have done this because they have lower energy bills now. The plasma energy consumption is not only translated into great resources consumer, but also higher payments for energy, which are not that good, in the economic conditions in which we live nowadays. The LCD monitors offer sharp images and even if some say that they are not comparable to the images provided by a plasma, they are great for the eyes, they are created so that the images might be perceivable by the human eye. There are numerous computer users who have apreferred using LCD monitors for this reason and for other great advantages that they bring. Who cares about the monitors which let us see images that clear that our eye is not even capable of seeing them? We just want to see clear and sharp images and colors. Well, the LCD TVs and monitors can offer this. The LCD monitors, because the TVs also have monitors, they are named screens or displays in that case, are created of tiny particles, which are named pixels. These are the picture elements, containing liquid crystal molecules.

LCD monitors are highly used these days because many of the models that have appeared in the last few years are characterized by great specifications that make them well performing enablign those using them to have a great gaming and working experience whenever they use them.
