Samsung Series 6 7

Samsung unveiled its latest Series 6 and Series 7 LCD HDTVs, the 650 and 750 models. Both TVs deliver 1080p picture with a dynamic contrast ratio up to 50.000:1.

Taking advantage of the ToC (Touch of Color) design, these new products have an astonishing look. Its colors are inspired from nature featuring a hint of red color blended into a semi-transparent black bezel. A dual-injection technology that replaces the paint with material has been used to create this piece of art that can fit in any décor.

The Series 6 650 uses the InfoLink RSS service through which people can get the latest news about sports, weather stocks etc. from USA Today. This feature expands the possibilities of the HDTV allowing users personalize the type of information they want to receive with only a push of a button. The WiseLink allows users to instantly access data stored on a memory stick or a digital device through the USB 2.0 interface. Other features of this LCD TV are the Ultra Clear Panel that improves contrast ratio, the Wide Color Enhancer 2 which strengthens the colors adding intensity to pictures, and for a smoother viewing experience the Auto Motion Plus 120Hz that estimates and inserts extra frames when needed.

Both 6 and 7 series are EnergyStar Rated, the power consumption used by these two being decreased up to 70% compared to similar 2007 models.

The Series 7 750 features in addition to the 650 an enhanced networking and multimedia management with WiseLink Pro, is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compliant allowing users to share content with other DLNA certified products and a Wheel-Key Remote with a built-in sensor that illuminates the remote when picked up. Quite interesting, especially when you’re watching a movie with the lights Off!

Another feature added for convenience is the Wireless LinkStick Accessory that allows users access the InfoLink RSS wirelessly. This feature comes with a price of $34.99 though, but it’s a must-have for an LCD like that.

While the Series 6 first shipped in March with prices from $479.99 for the 19” model to $3,199.99 for the 52.2”, the Series 7 750 will hit the market somewhere in May. Pricing has been announced for 750 also. The 39.9” will cost $2,599.99, the 45.9” $3,199.99 and the 52” $3,499.99.
